• 6 slices Sunbake white or brown bread
  • Spreadable butter
    or margarine
  • 30ml mayonnaise or
    other dressing
  • Handful of frilly lettuce
  • 2 tomatoes thinly sliced
  • 150 -200g thinly sliced
    ham and/or cold meats
  • 6 slices cheese, ready sliced
  • Salt and freshly
    ground black pepper to taste


Butter the bread slices. Spread 1 side of bread with mayonnaise and season lightly. Now cover with frilly lettuce leaves followed by tomato slices. Curl the cold meat slices and arrange on the top of the tomato slices. Cover these with 2 cheese slices per sandwich, then more lettuce and finish off with the remaining bread slices.

Try avocado slices or roasted pepper strips in this sandwich.
