• 4 slices of Sunbake white
    and/or brown bread sliced
  • Spreadable butter
    or margarine
  • 40ml mild mayonnaise
  • Handful of mixed lettuce
  • 1 tin tuna chunks
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 2 small gherkins sliced
  • 1 hardboiled egg
  • Salt and freshly ground
    pepper to taste
  • Snipped chives to serve


Butter the bread then spread with mayonnaise.

Cover with lettuce and break over tuna chunks. To this add the chopped tomato and gherkin slices, topping with the sliced hard boiled egg.

Serve seasoned with salt and pepper, slice prepared bread slices diagonally and sprinkle over the fresh chives.
